Business Opportunity

Calculate the Risk in any Business Opportunity

No  matter what you do, business opportunity or not…there is a risk involved!

  • If you drive your car to work…there is a risk.
  • If you take  plane or a cruise on vacation…there is a risk.
  • If you start a new relationship…there is a risk!

Most of the time…we don’t accomplish the things in life we desire…because we are scared to take the risk!  Anything worth having is going to have a certain amount of risk involved.

Getting involved in a business opportunity is no different!

When you come across a business opportunity…you have to count the cost.  Evaluate if you are ready, before getting involved in any business opportunity.

Jesus, himself said, “Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Will he not first sit down and estimate the cost to see if he has enough money to complete it? Luke 14:28 (NIV)

It’s important to understand, that every business opportunity is going to have risk involved!  Often times, the greater the opportunity…the greater the risk!

Business Opportunity Preparation

When you are following God’s plan for your life,

…3 things need to be in order before starting and operating a successful and effective business!

1.      Spiritually prepared

a.       Seeking God

b.      Trusting God’s plan for your life

c.       Consulting God and Godly counsel about everything

2.      Naturally prepared

a.       Develop a business plan (blueprint)

b.      Follow appropriate authorities

c.       Gather all of your resources (which may include others)

3.      Mentally & Emotionally prepared (most critical level of preparation)

a.       Are you ready for the long haul

b.      Do you have a backup plan for tough times

c.       Surround yourself with positive people

d.      Separate yourself from negative people

It’s extremely important to make sure you do your due diligence.

Although we should count the cost, first and foremost, you should listen to God.

If you heard or know this is a God given dream, then pursue it!  Here is one way to know if it is a God given dream.

God Given Business Opportunity

If you can’t stop thinking about it, you’ve tried to stop thinking about it, you’ve even tried to give it up, but it won’t let go of you…it might be a God given dream!

Most of the time…a God given dream is bigger than you!  You know that in your own abilities and your own talents, you couldn’t pull it off, but with God leading and guiding you…You know it can be done!

It’s important to write down the dream or the revelation you have from God.
Then the Lord answered me and said: “Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it. Habakkuk 2:2 (NKJV)

Why does scripture say to write it down?  One reason is so we can stay focused on the vision, on the dream.

Too many times…we get this dream to start or get involved in a business opportunity and we share that dream with family or others…and the response we get is not so kind.

We often hear nay sayers, reply, “You can’t do something like that.  You ain’t smart enough.  You’ve always worked in this factory and you are going to always work in this factory.”

It’s important to separate yourself from the negative people in your life and surround yourself with positive, encouraging people who want to help you pursue your dreams.
